Standing FirmAnglicans for Renewal |
Summer 2004 |
It has been very encouraging to hear from the wider I community about what they have heard from God regarding our country. I I met a man from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City who told my I group that the Lord has laid Canada on the harts of many intercessory prayer leaders and prophets. He said there were several hundred people praying for Canada in Kansas City because the Lord was showing them that this is Canada's hour of destiny and we are about to step into our redemptive purpose.
This is why the enemy is trying to take our focus off the big picture and draw us into conflict. God is doing a work, separating the wheat and the chaff and it is for His glory. All that is happening in our church can also be reflected in what is happening in our country. Whey? Because of our destiny.
Now is the time to stand firm for our country and for the Lord's Body. We are at a crossroads and need to choose the right path. When the Lord was speaking to Judah through Jeremiah, he told them what they must do, but they refused to obey.
Jer. 6:16: thus says the Lord: Stand by the mads and look; and ask for the eternal paths, where the good, old way is; then walk in it and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ' we will not walk in it!' [Matt.ll:29]
It has been prophesied over Canada that we are called to be a healer of nations, Our flag with the Maple Leaf speaks of this destiny.
Rev. 22:2 Through the middle of the broad way of the city; also on either side of the river was the tree of life with its twelve varieties of fruit, yielding each month its fresh crop; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing and the restoration of the nations. [Gen. 2:9]
The Lord spoke to Judah:
Jer: 6:17: Also I set watchmen over you saying, 'hear and obey the sound of the trumpet!' But they said, 'we will not listen or obey.'
These are the intercessors, the prophets who watch and listen for what the Lord is saying: the ones who discern what the enemy is plotting and scheming. If we refuse to listen and obey them, Canada could very well miss her destiny. The Lord is calling intercessors in other countries to pray for us. Shouldn't we also heed the call to prayer? When we look at circumstances in our country and in our church, it would be easy to get disheartened. In the midst of all that is happening with Bill C-250, the Dalai Lama and our own denomination, we could give up and succumb to the apathy which holds back so many from fulfilling their destiny. We could thing 'what is the point'? Our prayers don't seem to be answered. That is not the answer. We need to rise up, take up our sword and say 'NO' to the enemy. We need to remember Daniel and the battle that went on in the heavenlies before the answer to his prayers could come through. We need to be like Elisha's servant who understood when his eyes were opened to the spiritual realm and the understanding that those who are with us are greater than those who are against.
Neh.4:20: In whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us.
There is a trumpet call to war and we need to rally together to see God's kingdom come and His will be done in this country as it is in heaven.
Isa. 18:3: All you inhabitants of the world, you who dwell on the earth, when a signal is raised on the mountains-look! When a trumpet is blown-hear!
We need to have our spiritual eyes opened and our ears unstopped.
Zeph 1:16: A day of the blast of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the high towers and battlements.
Our battle cry is "Jesus" and we need to take our authority that we have in him and stand against the strongholds of the enemy.
Rev. 12:11: and they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with dead [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing] (Amp.)
We can overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, which says that greater is He in us than he who is in the world. We can sacrifice our time, not love the things of the world so much that we allow them to distract us from what the Lord wants to accomplish in and through us.
Canada stands on the threshold. Let's agree in prayer that she will choose the good old way, the path of the Lord's destiny for us and that we as believers will follow truth and righteousness, no matter what the cost.

ARM PRAYER LIST
Ps 27:7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; have mercy and be gracious to me and answer me! Lord, hear our cry, have mercy on us. May we haear the voice of Your Spirit speaking clearly to us as we seek Your direction. Psa. 30:10 Hear, O Lord, have mercy and be gracious to me! O Lord, be my helper! Holy Spirit, be our helper in our time of need. Lead us away from distractions and guide us on the narrow way. Psa. 102:13 You will arise and have mercy and loving-kindness for Zion, for it is time to have pity and compassion for her [Ps 12:5, 119:126] Arise O Lord, and have mery on your church. Judge us where we need to be judged. Purify us where we need to be cleansed. Prune us where we need to be pruned. Isa. 30:18 And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him. Lord, we earnestly seek You. We bow our hearts before You, we ask for Your favour upon us. Fill us with Your joy and Your peace so that even in the midst of turmoil we are securely anchored in You. Father, we thank You for the leaders in Essentials and all those on the front lines who have been bold in standing for orthodoxy. We pray that You will bless and reward them for their work for the Kingdom. We pray that you will protect and guard them and give Your angels especial charge over them (Ps 91). Continue to lift up Bishop Malcolm as he travels, the office staff Laurie-Ann and Anthea, Susan Torris as she takes on more responsibility for this magazine, the board and all those who contribute to the work of ARM.
