The Lion RoarsAnglicans for Renewal |
Fall 2005 |
Joel 3:16 The Lord will thunder and roar from Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shall shake; but the Lord will be a refuge for His people and a stronghold to the children of Israel. AMP. When a lion roars it can be heard up to five miles away and the sound paralyses the enemy. It is a territorial behaviour, a threat to those who would trespass on their area—it can also be a call for lions to locate each other. When lions put their mouth near to the ground their roaring sounds like thunder and the animals that hear it are full of fear. If you are near to a lion its roar can be ‘felt’; the air reverberates with loud roars and you can feel a vibration in your body.
Hos. 11:10 They shall walk after the Lord, Who will roar like a lion; He Himself will roar and [His] sons shall come trembling and eagerly from the west. AMP. The sound that intercessors seem to be hearing and even feeling right now is a roar deep in their spirit. It is the sound of the Lord calling His people to repentance, calling them to a deeper walk with him. He is calling us back to our first love. To come with Godly fear and reverence on to our faces before Him.
Amos 3:7-8 Surely the Lord God will do nothing without revealing His secret to His servants: the prophets. The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy? AMP. The prophets are hearing the word of the Lord and prophesying and the word that is coming forth is to draw close, to come into alignment, to set aside all those extraneous things that keep us from spending time with Him. The roar is a warning of judgement for those who would defy the living God, a call to holiness.
Isa 21:6-8 For thus has the Lord said to me: Go, set [yourself as] a watchman, let him declare what he sees. …. And [the watchman] cried like a lion, ……… AMP. It is a call for the watchmen (intercessors) to stand on watch and to declare what they see. The Lord is opening eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. He is increasing our discernment so that we can recognise the strategies and schemes of the enemy and we in turn can roar like the lion of Judah and paralyze the enemy.
The roar of intercession is a declaration of war for our families, for the youth and the children who are held captive. There is an anointing being released on the young people right now to take their places in the army of the Lord.
Isa. 49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives of the just be delivered? For thus says the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty will be taken away, and the prey of the terrible will be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will give safety to your children and ease them.
Now is the time to release the ‘roar’ a time for the ‘violent’ to rise up and take back what the enemy has stolen. Let us hear that roar reverberate across this nation so that people tremble and bow their knee and turn back to righteousness.
